The people at Andatech, in Blackburn Victoria kindly sent us one of their Ionmax® Air Purifiers to test and review and we put it to the test in a variety of situations. The service and communication Andatech gave us was flawless, so that was a good start!
Firstly, let us tell you a little about the air purifier we received. The Ionmax® Tower Ionic Air Purifier traps irritants and allergens on three collection blades and then releases purified air back into the room. Not all air cleaners are the same and not all of them will purify the air with the same efficiency as an ionic air purifier.
The Ionmax® Tower Ionic Air Purifier circulates air without the use of loud and disruptive motors or fans, and has no costly filters to replace. Simply remove the steel blade assembly and wipe clean with a damp cloth, so easy. As you can see the system is good looking and easily fitted into all the rooms we tested it in.
Our first test was conducted in a large, open plan area in the home that shared it’s space with two Burmese cats – known to shed a ‘fluff’ as well as fur. The room also had its windows opened throughout the day and a fine layer of dust would regularly collect on the furniture. The air purifier was used in this room for one week and by the end of the week it had collected enough dust and ‘fluff’ from the cats to warrant a cleaning of the blades. It performed exceptionally well – “I was skeptical as I thought the system wasn’t powerful as I couldn’t hear a thing” commented our first reviewer. This is one of the features of the Ionmax® Tower Ionic Air Purifier, how quiet it is – in fact you can’t hear it at all until it needs a clean and then you just hear a very fine humming.
Our second reviewer used the system in her child’s nursery for the course of one week. The week she reviewed was a rainy one so her comments were interesting considering dust wasn’t a problem for her. She ran the system as specified in the instructions and found that it removed not only the smells from the nursery but also the humidity. “I was very impressed, it made the room smell fresh and also made the room feel a more healthier environment for my baby”. After the weeks testing the blades were coated but didn’t really need a thorough cleaning. It seems the system ‘adapted’ to the environment and delivered excellent results. We cleaned the system before each review – as you can see below its very easy to simply lift and wipe the blades clean.
Our final reviewer was an elderly gentleman who suffers from emphysema and sleeps in a closed room to prevent any dust and allergens affecting him. He was the most skeptical, to say the least! Born in an era where ‘gadgets’ are a ‘waste of money’ he gave a glowing review after his week of testing, in fact he has kept the system!
He found the air purifier, especially at night, relieved his congested breathing enough to give a restful nights sleep, something he struggled with previously. Because his bedroom is continuously shut up it was also successful at removing the stale odours and dank smell. Very impressive we have to say!
The Ionmax® Tower Ionic Air Purifier is an economical and easy way to purify the air in your own home – we highly recommend it. All our reviewers were in agreement the system worked well in all circumstances. If you have elderly parents, animals inside, small children or not you should consider purchasing a unit!
