All my jewellery wearing stopped once I had my son but now I see

‘I received the pink bangle to review and it was great! I loved the iridescent pearl look as it caught the light and shimmered beautifully. As it is a rubbery bangle I was worried it would pull at the hairs on my arms but it didn’t at all. It was a comfortable to wear and best of all my little one loved it. It kept her busy in the high chair while I had a coffee and for me I found it to be a hassle -free ‘toy’ to carry around. Plus, you can use the bangle as a reminder of which side you’ve just nursed you baby on which I found very handy when I was out and about.

I think I received more comments on this piece of jewellery than I ever have with any gold jewellery I have worn! ’

Much like the bangle, the necklace was a great piece of teething jewellery but we found a few more positive aspects to the necklace design.

‘The design of the necklace is great. I thought it was a good length which was suitable for a mother who is forever bending over to tend to their baby and that it has a breakaway clasp so snagging cannot occur. I also found it to be a great sensory tool to help my bub focus while nursing; both visual and tactile stimulation for him. It is a great fashion accessory for me and isn’t something that will fall or be dropped on the ground by him. This was an absolute win-win for both of us and there is absolutely no reason why this necklace cannot be worn long after bub has finished teething!’

Please keep in mind these necklaces are designed for Mum to wear and baby to chew on while being supervised!

Both these particular designs we reviewed were easily cleaned with warm soapy water or can be put in the dishwasher. They also come beautifully packaged and to me seem like a great gift for both mother and baby. ‘My experience with Ezyline made hanging out the washing fun. WOW, I never thought I would say that about doing the laundry!

Firstly, I found it very easy to assemble Ezyline to my existing clothesline and it only took about 7 minutes before I was ready to hang my first load of washing. I thought it was great that the length of the Ezyline was easily adjustable by unclipping a few of the Ezylinks. This meant I had no worries as to what length my clothesline was as the Ezyline was going to fit regardless.

I will admit I was worried as to whether the Ezyline would stand up to the pressure of holding onto heavier items such as jeans and towels but as it turned out I had nothing to worry about! The Ezyline didn’t drop one item, even on a windy day as everything stayed securely in place. I have to say it was a funny feeling getting use to using such a different technique of hanging out the washing; a one handed technique!

Once you get into the ‘groove’ of using the Ezyline you will find it quicker, easier and not so much of a chore to hang out the washing! Bringing in the washing is another {fun} story. Swipe your hand along in the opposite direction to when you put it out, collecting the washing along the way and within about 5 seconds I had a row of washing off the Ezyline! For me, the Ezyline was a big time saver, no fiddling with pegs and walking back and forth meant this job was done in record time.’

I love that we now have the choice to personalise our washing lines with the vibrant colours of Ezyline; pink, red, blue – 7 colours in all to choose from, but don’t just think Ezyline is only suitable for the home because it would be the perfect little travel accessory for near or far journeys while camping or in hotels. These are such a good idea to have handy in the fridge. I’m talking about the scrumptious Cookie Dough from Cakes and Bakes by Anna. We were sent two of their best sellers, (and we now know why they are so popular), traditional choc-chip and traditional butter cookies with M&Ms.

These flavoured cookie dough’s and others can be purchased and sent to your door. Every packet of cookie dough is vacuum sealed and can be stored in the fridge for up to six months, making them a perfect quick snack for hungry kids and busy parents. Just open a packet of Ready-to-Bake cookie dough and you can serve, fresh, homemade cookies in about 20 minutes. Each packet makes about a dozen cookies.

‘I’m not sure, can I take credit for making and baking these delicious biscuits when all I did was check the mail, roll balls and put a tray in the oven? Hmmm….
I will admit I did! I took credit for making these biscuits from scratch – all in the aim for an honest review though!

I received the traditional butter cookies with M&Ms and the first thing I notice when I opened the packet was the amount of M&M in the dough; there were heaps! I was happy about that because is it very disappointing to eat ‘choc-chip’ biscuits and never get a chocolate!

All I had to do to make these biscuits was divide the dough into 12 portions, roll into balls and bake. It really couldn’t be any easier! I shared these butter cookies with M&M with a friend but left some for my husband and daughter too.

Right after her first bite, my friend said, “Did you make these? They are delicious.”
“Argh, yes”, I said.
“I’ve never know you to bake anything before. Who knew you were so good at it.” She replied and kept on eating.

That was what I was looking for, an initial reaction to the product. Confirmation that these were the best biscuits I had ever baked! They were really delicious. They were still slightly warm, yum and the biscuit itself was buttery yet light and airy and there were M&M’s in every biscuit. I was and am very impressed by the cookie dough we reviewed for Cakes and Bakes by Anna and I will definitely be telling more people about these yummo biscuits!’

‘Love, love, love this product. Ready made cookie dough, what could be better if you have starving children at you feet, or nobody is home and you want a quiet tea and biscuit!

I received the traditional choc-chip variety of cookie dough and it was heavenly. The cookies were firm to pickup but just melted in your mouth every bite. They were sweet but not too sweet and the smell of baking cookies filling the kitchen is unbeatable.  Thankfully they only take about 15-20 minutes to cook and my kids were waiting not so patiently but even they agreed it was worth the wait! I would suggest you leave the dough on the bench for about a hour before you want to make the biscuits, that way the dough is much easier to mould into balls. If you are a cookie fan I think you should try these and they really were tasty, more satisfying that what I have bought at the supermarket.’

As I sit here adding links to this review, I wish I had a plate of these cookies as they sound quite appetising!

This week we have a review product that will interest many parents, especially if your child suffers from eczema; it is the Bamboo Bubby Bag!

‘The Bamboo Bubby Bag arrived at the perfect time for my son to review. With the change of season has come the cool air and like many other kids, he kicks off the blankets night after night, only to wake in the very early morning because he is cold. Well, this did not happen on the nights he was in the Bamboo Bubby Bag and this meant we all got a great nights sleep. I think a key factor was that both his hand and feet were covered and when he moved around nothing crept up exposing his skin to the cold air. I was a bit worried he would not be able to put his dummy in his mouth during the night but his covered hands were not a hindrance. He could also roll around easily and didn’t get tangled up. Although my son does not have eczema, I did notice he didn’t wake with any midge or mosquito bites which has been happening lately. In comparison with his other pyjamas, I can feel how soft the Bamboo Buddy Bag is and how this would make it very comfortable to sleep in, although these are not just for bed time! My hat goes off to the mother who created such a beneficial and practical product for all of us mothers to use on our littles ones, and if your child does suffer from eczema I would suggest the Bamboo Bubby Bag as I can see how it would give revief to the child and the parents!’

Do It Yourself Cake Kits

What a fun and exciting business Cake 2 The Rescue is and this week we have reviewed two of their marvellous, and very helpful, Cake Rescue Kits.

‘My son was having a Hoot inspired party and Cake 2 The Rescue kindly sent us their Whooot cake to go with our party theme. Although I had never baked such a technical looking cake before this Cake 2 The Rescue kit gave me confidence I could do it because everything was included, along with easy to follow instructions and ready cut templates for the icing. The BAKE-IN-THE-BOX technique worked perfectly, I didn’t get any cake caught to the box, neither the side or the bottom! (Photos below.) The icing was easily made and with the ‘bakers girl tips’, was easily applied to the cake. My Whooot cake turned out perfectly and I can quite honestly say the sponge cake was light, fluffy and sweet, and our guests went back for seconds so I must have done a good job!

I would recommend checking out Cake 2 The Rescue if you are having a party. The Cake Rescue Kit saved me heaps of time from organising and buy ingredients, not to mention money because I didn’t have to buy packs of food colouring or baking power for example, both of which I would only need a small amount and be left with virtually the whole pack which I have no use for. Cake 2 The Rescue is a must!’

‘I was given a gorgeous Teddy Bear Cake from Cake 2 The Rescue to review and have to say I was nervous about making this cake as I have never made a themed cake before. It turned out that I didn’t have to be concerned at all. The Cake Rescue Kit was fantastic, everything you need from start to finish is included and the instructions were very simple to follow. And when I say everything was included I mean it! The great BAKE-IN-THE-BOX idea meant that I didn’t have to find a baking tin big enough for a celebration cake. A rolling pin and cake server were also included. The fondant is pre mixed and all I had to do was roll it and cut it out using the templates, so easy. The cake is large and is perfect for a children’s party, plenty to feed everyone. It was really enjoyable and made me feel like I had accomplished something worthwhile for my daughter. She loved it and I highly recommend Cake 2 The Rescue to anyone considering making a birthday cake!’

‘We had just moved into our house and I had some plans for the decorating, one was to have a beautiful sanctuary of a bedroom for myself and my husband.  ’I ordered a tall Paddo design with piping around the edges. It is exactly what I had pictured; a simple, sleek design in a stone colour fabric which is soft yet durable. The bedhead was couriered without any problems, in fact it came a little early. (That usually doesn’t happen when you are waiting for something to be delivered!) I thought the delivery cost were very fair, (Sydney to North Brisbane for me), and it was definitely handled with care by the delivery guys. Packaged tightly, I couldn’t wait to undress it and reveal my new bedhead.

I love the fact the BedNest bedhead is full length. By that I mean that the bedhead goes right to the floor, it does not have metal brackets that have to be attached to the bed, it has little ‘feet’ which stand only about a centimetre or two off the ground. I think the full length design is a great feature because if you change your mattress you don’t have to worry about the height difference, plus this design makes the bedhead stand sturdy at the head of the bed. The quality of the BedNest bedhead is outstanding, the piping is attached perfectly, the fabric on the front of the bedhead is taut and attached to the back very tightly with plenty of staples. The calico on the back covers all the work; I have not seen one loose stitch or a half stamped in staple. The care that has gone into making this bedhead is incredible and it has resulted in a faultless bedhead.

Slip the bedhead behind the head of your bed and done; your new bedhead is installed.

This tall Paddo design bedhead has completely refreshed and revitalised our room and once my new side tables arrive it will be complete.’

‘Purple’ Review
‘I used my Vapur® Anti-Bottle® at the beach while on holiday. The pop top design with lid meant I didn’t get any sand in my water and I found the 500ml size a comfortable size and weight to carry around with my other items. It made dressing Sally very easy for her and she had no need to come to me for help.

From my point of view the concept of Moppet Poppet is fantastic. This online shop has now given me the choice to buy fashionable outfits instead of having to buy a new doll or the additional outfits for the doll which, at times, I do feel can be inappropriate for my 5 year old. The quality of this outfit was superb. There was not a stitch out of place and they were finished off very nicely as there were no extra thread or fabric on the inside of the clothes. I have already washed the top twice due to grubby fingers and the top came up as good as new; no stains, still in shape and the stitching in tact.

I showed my daughter the Moppet Poppet website, a slight mistake on my behalf because she now wants everything lol, but that does go to show the range Moppet Poppet stock is exactly what children will enjoy. Little girls' would love this dress for their favourite doll!

‘My son reviewed the Sports Top Bottle which is for ages 3 years +, my son is 2 and he found it fine to use. He soon got to know the pop up top and he loved it, because it was just like Daddy’s. I was very impressed by the design of this bottle, there is a rubber ring on the inside of the sports top and that makes sure to stop any leakages. Even when the bottle ended up on its side, not one drop of water escaped. The bottle is also made very tough; it was dropped a few times and does not have a dint to show. This bottle is food grade stainless steel and the top is BPA free, so I have no worries letting my son drink for this very practical bottle. Also, I think the stainless steel kept the water cooler for longer than if it had of been in a plastic bottle. In all, I found this product to be completely user friendly for my son and most importantly, safe for him. Thanks to Kiddie Concepts for bring us such a great product!’

‘I am very happy that there is now an alternative to plastic bottles that is not glass. My child can drink safely when he is out and about with his sports bottle. The Sippy Top which is the only plastic part to the bottle is 100% BPA free. (An interesting fact – Did you know, BPA is not banned in Australia and it is in many other countries such as Denmark, Canada, France and a number of States in the US !) The bottle is a great size as it held more than enough liquid for my 18 month old and the bottle itself is not heavy so she had no trouble walking around with it, which coincidentally meant she drank more water! Since We Were Kids has recently added two great new brands to their website, Moodeez and diapees & wipees, and we have been lucky enough to be given one of each to review.

Moodeez bags are cute little purses to keep your female hygiene products in order. They are the perfect size to hold 4-5 tampons and a pad or panty liner to ensure you are always at the ready.  Since we were kids carry’s a range of different fabric designs and there are also two waterproof deigns, we received the cute heart to heart design.

This Moodeez has been long required for me. Once I received it, it has been something I have kept in my handbag since then, so I have been reviewing the Moodeez for three weeks now.

I found it to be a  great sized bag for it’s intended use as it held all I required for the entire day, it fit comfortably in a side compartment of my bag and I found it to be discreet and ‘cool’ enough that I was comfortable to take the Moodeez to the bathroom as opposed to hiding a tampon in my hand. The Moodeez is kept closed with a Velcro tab and I was concerned the tampons may escape out the sides but the Velcro closes tight enough that nothing will ever escape; perfectly designed!

My friends loved this products too, said it would be great to hold their stash of feminine hygiene products in their draw at work. It would be great for school aged children as well, and fashhional no doubt. ’

For me the diapees & wipees bag is great because I no longer need to carry around the big nappy bag, I can throw what I need in the diapees & wippees and slip it into my hand bag and off we go. Plus, when we do require a new nappy and wipes, I know they are all in the one spot, I don’t have to search for individual items. The diapee & wipees I reviewed was waterproof and I think that’s they way to go. Once in particular I placed it on the counter in the baby change rooms at the shops and didn’t realise it was wet. I was thankful for the waterproof design! The diapees & wipees fit the nappys, a pack of wipes and a few nappy bags.’
